Hi, I’m Dr. Kristina Aganova!
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families, including individuals on the autism spectrum, in both individual and group settings. I have extensive experience using evidence-based treatments to support people navigating OCD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, mood disorders, and trauma.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person and family I work with. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other mindfulness-based approaches. I also have specialized training in parent-based interventions for early childhood anxiety and ADHD, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions).
I earned my doctorate in School-Community Psychology from Hofstra University, where my predoctoral training focused on children with behavioral and learning challenges, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. I also trained at Hofstra’s Student Counseling Services, providing individual and group therapy to college students coping with anxiety, depression, panic disorders, OCD, and PTSD.
At the heart of my work is helping clients feel empowered and understood. I strive to support individuals and families in building practical skills, gaining insight into patterns that may be holding them back, and creating meaningful, lasting change. Together, we work toward goals that foster resilience, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
